Challenge Your Mind this Mental Health Awareness Week

Could the Future of Education and Healthcare be in the hands of a Workbook?

Designed especially with the intention of supporting CBT, thought behaviour therapy, to write, read, paint and draw with the Power of Words Collection.  Can a book change our thoughts?  Can a word change our thoughts?  Can releasing our emotions and feelings that prevent us from rising from the challenge be the next step in our education and patient after care between sessions?  Thought provoking words, to rise from even the depths of depression, turmoil of stress, and never-ending fear that anxiety provokes.

Some THOUGHT provoking questions by Dr. Burns

How long have I been feeling this way?

Am I doing something constructive about the problem, or am I simply brooding and avoiding it?

Are my thoughts and feelings realistic?

Will it be helpful or hurtful if I express my feelings?

Am I making myself unhappy about a situation that’s beyond my control?

Am I avoiding a problem and denying that I’m really upset about it?

Are my expectations for the world realistic?

Are my expectations for myself realistic?

Am I feeling hopeless?

Am I experiencing a loss of self-esteem?

Have I correctly identified the upsetting event?

Do I want to change my negative feelings about this situation?

Have I identified my automatic thoughts properly?

Are my rational responses convincing, valid statements that put the lie to my automatic thoughts?

Low self-esteem can lead to unhealthy anger, anxiety, guilt and depression.

Self-abuse creates guilt and depression

Bottling up anger will lead you to bickering and feeling irritable and end up in bitterness and conflict.
